What is the basis used to test the products?
Incoming goods are tested in terms of statistical criteria in accordance with ISO standard 3269. Specific agreements are needed where additional requirements are to be met. 
 

Are test records supplied with the products?

In principle no, but they can be if a customer asks for them (e.g. test report on first samples, acceptance test certificate 3.1.B in accordance with EN10204).

What is the storage period for test documents?

10 years.
 

Have you set up an environmental management system?

Yes, based on ISO 14001.
 

Do you have a safety and emergency plan?

Yes.
 

Are your employees trained to develop an awareness for aspects which are ecologically important?

Training is provided which is specifically related to ecological aspects. 
 

What is Bossard doing in terms of the EU directives on the use of dangerous materials in the electrical and electronics industries (ELV, RoHS, WEEE)?
Bossard is already in a position to supply on request, fasteners which have a chrome (VI)-free corrosion protection coating.

We automatically assemble components, and for this process we need fasteners which have a maximum defect rate of 1 part in 10,000 - can you supply parts to this quality?
Yes, this refers to the quality for automatic machines set out in ISO 16426. When you place an order you must include details of the selected properties of the product, with due consideration to the use you intend to put them to. We would work out the requirements together with you.
 

Can your packaging materials be recycled?
Yes, our filler material and the cardboard boxes used in the delivery can be recycled, and they comply with the appropriate environmental requirements.

Yes, our technical applications laboratory can work with samples of your components to determine the technically best screwing parameters.
  

What is the recommended stress for standard sizes of thread-forming screws?
It depends on the specific assembly conditions and on the type of screw.
 

What is the recommended duration for salt-spray testing of rust-resistant steel screws?
There are no regulations on this, but experience suggests at least around 1,000 hours.  
 

What are the alternatives if we want to reduce the risk of hydrogen embrittlement?
Stainless steel products / Dacromet ®, Geomet ® / mechanical galvanizing etc.
