Our FASTEKS® self-tapping threaded inserts are available in a large variety of designs and sizes, directly from stock. Below, you will find the corresponding order designations for each version.

FASTEKS® FTI Threaded Inserts Product Overview

Design 1: Threaded Inserts with Cutting Slots

  • Material: Steel, case-hardened, zinc-plated, blue passivated / INOX 1.4305
  • Available in M2.5, M3, M4, M5, M6, M6a, M8, M10, M12, M14, M16, and M20

Features:

  • Proven standard product suitable for all applications
  • 2 cutting slots, chip-forming design
  • The first two threads are tapered – the insert functions like a thread cutter
  • For materials with low to medium tensile strength (tends to compress slightly in harder materials)

Design 2: Threaded Inserts with Cutting Holes, Long

  • Material: Case-hardened steel, zinc-plated, blue passivated / INOX 1.4305
  • Available in M3, M4, M5, M6, M8, M10, M12, M14, and M16

Features:

  • Further development of version 1 (with cutting slots)
  • Designed for materials with higher tensile strength (does not compress)
  • Thread cutting is achieved through three extremely sharp cutting holes
  • The first two threads are tapered – the insert functions like a thread cutter
  • Chip-forming design

  • For materials with higher tensile strength (does not compress)
  • Thread cutting achieved through three extremely sharp cutting holes
  • The first two threads are tapered – the insert acts like a thread cutter
  • Chip-forming design

  • Chip reservoir ensures a consistently clean internal thread
  • No compression, suitable for materials with higher tensile strength
