In this seminar, you will learn how to recognise different types of corrosion and how to avoid them by selecting suitable surfaces. You will also learn how to select the right corrosion protection for different environmental conditions. Finally, you will acquire basic knowledge about surface coatings such as electrogalvanising or zinc flake coatings.

The seminar day is aimed at employees from the areas of design and planning as well as assembly personnel. The cost is CHF 550 per person (excl. VAT)

We are looking forward to the start of the seminar ‘Corrosion and corrosion protection in fastening technology’ and will start at 9 a.m. with a short introduction to the seminar programme and an introduction to Bossard.

Types of corrosion in connection technology
In our first session, you will learn about the basics of corrosion. What exactly is corrosion and what types of corrosion need to be considered.

Corrosion protection in fastening technology
After the coffee break, we will look at the various surface coatings and their effect on corrosion. We will also take a closer look at rust and acid-resistant fasteners.

Corrosion testing and corrosion resistance
We look at how a corrosion test works and compare it with real corrosion conditions.

Galvanic and zinc flake coatings for fastening technology (designation according to standard)
What are galvanic and zinc flake coatings and what do they mean for fastening technology? What are the respective designations according to standardisation.

Influence of the coating on the resulting preload force
In our practical demo, we look at the influence of the coating on the resulting preload force in bolted joints. This will be demonstrated using practical examples.
