Heat resistant fixing system

Customer and task
Fire test in tunnel

Tunnel safety is a global concern. Our customer in France, is a company which develops fixing systems and supplies safe, economic fixings and connectors around the world.

For a tunnel renovation in Paris, the target was to improve the current fixing system for fire protection plates. Bossard was given the task to identify the fastening solution which can withstand corrosion and extreme temperatures in case of a fire in a tunnel. The public safety shall not be compromised. In addition to the safety requirement, the new solution should enable a faster and better installation process. In short, safety with greater productivity.

Solution
ecosyn○-grip

Realizing the very stringent safety requirements and product performance, the Bossard engineering team came up with a solution called ecosyn® MRX. It is a fastener constructed with special martensitic, hardened and tempered chrome steel. ecosyn® MRX can resist at least six hours in extreme high temperature up to 1,200°C. This is the result of a new development in material technology. In addition to that, the self-drilling thread is designed for high performance drilling.

Customer benefits
Test passed, ecosyn○-MRX released

Bossard ecosyn® MRX screws successfully meet all the stringent requirements providing higher safety, better corrosion resistance and faster assembly process.
