Summary: Verifies and keeps records on inbound and outbound shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Unload truck/trailer and store shipments on pre-receiving floor
  • Record receiving info on Bill of Landing/Pack slip
  • Perform a visual part check
  • Pull samples for inspection
  • Using FACTS and SMS systems print RI from SSI#
  • Breakdown pallets
  • Receive customer samples
  • Scan barcode on shipping container
  • Refer to Shipping Training Manual for work Instructions
  • Prepare TU & verify packaging
  • Verify number of containers on shipment
  • Print delivery note & labels
  • Record Tracking number
  • Attach labels
  • Prepare containers for shipment
  • Stage parcel in pickup zone
  • General housekeeping of warehouse & equipment
  • Deliveries to customers - Driving delivery van
  • Stock and maintain VMI for customer
  • Inventory Management

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one year related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, an decimals. Ability to compute rate and percent.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
