MIR Boosts Productivity with Innovative Solutions from Bossard
Mobile Industrial Robots develops and produces collaborative mobile robots that help companies improve efficiency by automating internal transportation.
MIR has chosen Bossard as a strategic partner to optimize their fastening solutions and assembly of the robots, and, last but not least, because there was a good fit between the two technologically founded companies.
"I very much see Bossard as a strategic partner, and after we have automated and optimized production, we have freed up some resources that we can use for something else that creates added value for our own customers," states Bjørn Houlberg, PTA Engineer at MIR.
Innovative Replenishment with a New Logistics Solution
MIR and Bossard have developed a new self-driving warehouse system for replenishing components in production – the Butler. By integrating Bossard's logistics solutions with MIR's mobile robots, all screws and bolt components are now transported directly to the assembly line, instead of the assembly workers having to fetch the components from the warehouse themselves. Another advantage is that the Butler fetches the shipments from Bossard directly at the goods reception at MIR.
"We choose our suppliers based on many different criteria. They must be able to deliver the right quality, and they must have the capacity to join us on the growth journey that we are also on – and it's a plus if they can help develop our business and come up with good ideas on how to do things a little differently," concludes Bjørn Houlberg, PTA Engineer at MIR.
