Precote® 30/80/85 Adhesive Coating

Precote® 30/80/85 is a varnish-like pre-coating system based on microencapsulated acrylates, intended for locking and sealing threaded parts. On assembly, the microcapsules rupture and the adhesive takes effect.

How Precote® Adhesive Coatings Work

Precote® adhesive coatings are based on a unique microencapsulation technology that uses an acrylate system. The adhesive applied to the thread remains inactive until use and is dry to handle. It is only activated when screwed in. During installation, the pressure between the mating thread flanks bursts the microcapsules and the adhesive and curing agent are released. The adhesive then cures at room temperature and provides reliable securing and/or sealing.

There are three different types available for different applications:

Precote 30 (yellow)
Precote 80 (red)
Precote 85 (turquoise)

Additional products are available on request for customer-specific applications.

Precote® 30/80/85 Advantages

Chemical Resistance

Precote® 30/80/85 is resistant to oils, grease, hydraulic fluids, liquid coolants etc.

Anti-Corrosion

The adhesive coating helps avoid corrosion in the threaded connection.

Temperature range: -60 °C to +150 °C
Application: for thread sealing and medium strength thread-locking, easy disassembly, no post-curing

Precote® 80

Color: red
Thread fiction: >0,25
Temperature range: -60 °C to +170 °C
Application: universal screw locking system, high strength

Precote® 85

Color: turquoise
Thread fiction: 0,10 to 0,15
Temperature range: -60 °C to +170 °C
Application: universal screw locking system, high strength, low thread friction value

All values refer to M10 black tempered screws (thread pairing medium tolerance range), coating length A, 360° all-round.
