In the field of fastening technology, plastics pose special challenges in terms of assembly methods. As a solution to this – based on years of practical experience in fastening thermoplastics – we have developed ecosyn® plast screws. Their special thread geometry enables secure and easy direct fastening into thermoplastic elements.

The Special Thread Geometry and Advantages of ecosyn® plast Screws

In contrast to conventional tapping screws in accordance with ISO 1478, ecosyn® plast screws are characterized by

  • a pointed thread angle of 30° instead of 60°
  • a smaller core diameter with the same nominal diameter
  • a larger thread pitch

The combination of these special characteristics leads to decisive advantages:

  • Improved thread load bearing depth (te > tB)
  • Smaller radical force, therefore higher load capacity
  • Less burst effect in single-screw tubes
  • More material between thread flanks (fe > fB), and therefore larger shear cylinder
  • Lower driving torque and higher stripping torque leads to more safety in the assembly and the connection overall
