Everything in one assembly system: Connect your tools and devices with our Smart Factory Assembly service.
The more assembly tools and testing equipment are connected to the system, the more you can leverage the following advantages:
Battery-powered screwdriving and riveting devices equipped with sensors are the first step towards digitizing your production. The tools receive information about the next work step directly from the system and return information about the last work status. Configuring the tools is simple and user-friendly.
Kolver is a quality European manufacturer with a wide range of corded electric screwdrivers based on different technologies. Kolver industrial electric screwdrivers with torque and angle control are well-known for their durability, superior performance, and repeatability.
Stahlwille tools are known for precision and innovation in the world of manufacturing and maintenance.
One of the biggest losses in manual production is the time spent searching. By guiding employees through the assembly process in a targeted manner, search times can be massively reduced.
Advantages of guiding employees:
Pick-to-Light applications show the employee on an integrated light display where to pick the respective components for the next work step. The process can be acknowledged via a button, the touch function on the light, or an integrated sensor. We are happy to put together a package for your specific needs.
The Bossard SmartTower turns the components in the correct order towards the assembly worker. The integrated light indicates when the component is to be removed. The pick can be acknowledged either by a confirmation button or by weight (e.g. when picking ten screws weighing ten gramms each, the system acknowledges 100 gramms of weight being removed). In addition, this system offers an inventory function that counts all components and can provide an evaluation.
In the case of screwed connections, there are often different drives in the same assembly. The bits must be changed during the assembly process. The Bitcube offers an optimal solution to simplify this process. The next work step (screwing step) is only released when the correct bit has been removed and all other bits are in the jig. This ensures that the screw drives are not damaged.
Gesture camera systems offer the possibility of following the movements of the assembly worker and projecting information onto the workplace via an attached projector. Video sequences can also be played back and the positioning of parts (or the parts themselves) can be checked for correctness (also known as shadowboard).
To achieve the highest possible productivity, it is important that sub-steps can be automated and inputs can be processed automatically. Smart Factory Assembly offers various possibilities.
Advantages of automating inputs:
The scanner can read a large amount of information into the system with one scan. The stored logic can filter out the required information. Scanners are often used to identify components, save serial numbers or start orders. With Smart Factory Assembly, different types of scanners can be coupled. Whether via cable or radio, we integrate the scanner according to your needs.
In order not to interrupt the work flow, sensors help to automate the process. The type of sensor is not important. The inputs from the sensors can be used to advance the work instruction. The values from the sensors can be stored in the system if they offer an additional benefit for the production.
Cameras are used to store images or information from the image area. This information can be stored in the product file and called up at any time. Depending on your needs, there are different camera systems that can be integrated. We are happy to advise you on the best option for your specific application.
In addition to automating inputs via scanners, sensors or cameras, measuring outcomes and controlling steps can also be automated. Our Smart Assembly service offers you various possibilities to do so, from smart weighing systems to identification systems.
Advantages of automating measuring and control:
Measuring weight can be helpful in a production in different steps. Whether weighing the package contents at the end of a line to ensure that nothing has been forgotten or to verify the number of screws to be used. We are pleased to help you with the design of such systems.
Electrical components are subjected to a functional test at the end of production. In some cases, it is necessary to measure whether current is running through the cables. With a test program, this process can also be automated and controlled by a control system. We gladly advise you on the configuration of tests in this area.
For certain products it may be useful to identify employees who manufacture the product. For example, if a training course has to be compared (welding, screwing, etc.) or certain checks have to be made with a 4-eyes principle. With an identification system, these parameters can be checked and the information stored.
For complex tasks that require high accuracy or are very monotonous, the support of collaborative robots (Cobots) can relieve the workload of your employees and increase productivity. Cobots are controlled by the system, similar to the way a screwdriver works. The programs are taught and programmed via the robot’s software. The Cobot receives the signal for the work to be carried out in the corresponding work step. We are happy to support you in integrating Cobots into your Smart Assembly system.
