Finalist of Austrian Logistic Award 2016

June 21, 2016

With Smart Factory Logistics a finalist at the Austrian logistics award: Bossard enables smart C-part management at Komptech GmbH

As a result of our value stream analysis, we implemented a new logistics solution for C-part management at Komptech. C-parts from Bossard and other third parties are managed with SmartBin now. Out of stock situations will not occur anymore. With this project, we ranked amongst the three finalists of the Austrian logistics award.

Within the “getting lean” framework, one of the goals was organizing the assembly better, thus optimizing the total cost of ownership and increasing the manufacturing productivity with better throughput and fewer stock outages.

Komptech is a leading international technology supplier of machinery and systems for the mechanical and mechanical-biological treatment of solid waste and for the treatment of biomass as a renewable energy source.

Association supports industry in logistics topics

The "Verein Netzwerk Logistik" (VNL, Association for Network Logistics) presents the Austrian logistics award since 2009. Innovations of the total logistics process that reach the corporate objectives lie at the heart of the award. It should express the importance of logistics for a company’s competitiveness. The jury consists of experts from the fields of manufacturing, commerce, service providers and R&D. On average 15 to 20 companies submit their projects.

The VNL is an intersectoral platform for manufacturers, industry and trade, research and education facilities, and service and technology providers in the logistics sector. With its network activities, events and projects, VNL wants to support and sensitize the economy concerning logistic activities.

The success story was also featured in one of the biggest Austrian daily newspapers, „Der Standard“.
