Permanent Assembly
Fasteners form a joint mechanically non-removable capable of assuming high tensile and shear loads in most conditions. Typically, the joining process can be carried out from only one side of the component. These assemblies are used when thread forming is not possible, high strength is required or only single access side is possible.
Non-permanent Assembly
Fasteners form a joint mechanically removable designed to withstand higher axial and radial loads and can be made vibration-proof. This allows engineers to use thinner and smaller material sections and designs. Installation generally requires access to both sides of the fastened joint, although specialist designs / solutions may facilitate fastening/ final tightening from a single side.
